We will go over Unit 4 in the 4-1-1 workbook, utilizing a PowerPoint and videos to go over the laws discussed. Virtual class Mobility Training 11:00 am – 12:00 pmMobility TrainingTime: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Mobility Training to learn about different public transportation options available for and around the Galveston County area. In the training individuals will also learn MHI transportation procedures, guidelines, and how to set up transportation through the online system. Also in the training the Individualized Travel Plan (ITP) will be completed and MHI participates will leave with the mobility booklet, a list of different service providers for their specific area, scheduling Guide practice sheets, if needed a application for para transit provider for their specific area and a copy of their Individualized Travel Plan (ITP). 12Soft Skills Extension Activity 11:00 am – 12:00 pmSoft Skills Extension ActivityTime: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm During this training participants will engage in a review of all the topics that were covered and participate in additional activities that will reinforce concepts already learned. Virtual Zoom class Disability Disclosure- Accommodations 2:00 pm – 4:00 pmDisability Disclosure- AccommodationsTime: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Participants will discuss and learn about accommodations that can be utilized in both Post-secondary education and in employment. They practice navigating the JAN website (Job Accommodation Network), which allows them to search for accommodations by disability, limitation, or accessibility/accommodation itself. Virtual Zoom class | 13Disability Disclosure- Post Secondary 2:00 pm – 4:00 pmDisability Disclosure- Post SecondaryTime: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Participants will learn about why and why not to disclose in a Post secondary environment as well as practicing a disclosure script for such a scenario. Participants will also learn about resources on college/university campuses and watch videos of advocates sharing disclosure experiences in that environment. Disability Disclosure-Social Settings 2:00 pm – 4:00 pmDisability Disclosure-Social SettingsTime: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Participants will focus on disclosing in social settings, create and practice scripts for the disability disclosure in social setting. They will be role playing in several settings to get comfortable disclosing in social setting.
